What a B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L weekend for playing some softball!!!
The weather was absolutely perfect and we got an extra hour of sleep!!!
Couldn't ask for anything better.
I know, you thought softball was over didn't you.....wrong :)
It's called Fall Ball and I think if the girls were given the chance,
they would play year-round.....
Anyway, on to the weekend.
This fall starts the season for next year. The girls had to move up to the 18 and Under
Age Division as at least two of our girls are now 17 with a few more to follow.
Nevertheless, they went ready to play some ball this weekend, a little nervous,
a little scared, but ready. (I think they wanted that District Game back :)
They were happy, relaxed, and having fun!

Fun, until this happened.....

Before I begin, he is okay, which made it funny again!!
Jeff was warming Chanel up to pitch. Of Course, being the dad and an adult,
there is no need for a safety mask or helmet....right?!
A play is being made in the outfield and he decides to watch the game.....
Chanel isn't watching the game and is warming up like she is supposed to.....
It was a definite strike - and Jeff's head/eye - caught it.
Yep, he has a nice shiner now and we are able to laugh about it....
Kyle and Jeff with their "rally hats" on:
Everyone was in the mood for some softball this weekend....

We have added a new member (okay, she's not new, but going to be a regular
with us)... Cassandra...
She fits in so well with our girls and they love her...
not to mention, she's an awesome pitcher and player!! :)

Our
Aub has moved on and it has been hard as the girls have grown up and played together
for so long, but life must go on I guess.
Aub was there this weekend and watched one of our games and rooted
the girls on. It is sad and we all will miss her being there, but know she will do well.
There were 16 teams there this weekend. They played three pool games on Saturday and moved into bracket play on Sunday - single elimination....
None of us were "expecting" anything.
Oh, the hopes are always there, but just wanted to get our feet wet and play with the
"big girls" and get the first 18 and under tourney out the way early.
One team was from Chicago, Illinois - arrived in a Charter bus - and were, to say in the
least, oh, so good". Another team - that was extremely good, was from Nebraska -
"big" girls who could hit the ball like no other....
On Saturday we played three games - Chanel pitched our first game and we won!
We won the second game, and then lost the third game....
Here was our Schedule on Sunday:
The first game was at 10:00 - We Won
The second game was at 2:30 - We Won
The third game was supposed to be at 4:00 - We Won
The fourth game - started around 6 '
ish - and.......
WE WON!!
1st Place Title and also Nationals here we come again!!!
The girls were all on their toes,
they all were hitting the ball - in the right spots,
and their defense was at it's best!!!

Wow is all I can say....an awesome start to a new season....
Great Job Girls - You are all just completely out-of-this-world
awesome!! Great way to reach what you set out to do
this weekend!!!! (Sam was unable to be there this weekend - she
had her tonsils out on Monday - but she was with us through....
texting...... I kept her up-to-date- each inning
-She was rooting them on, sitting on the edge of her seat,
and oh so happy with the final text of the evening!
Thanks Jan for the picture
championship picture - it's way better than mine!!
